Random Europe Pics (Part Deux)

Here are the rest. The commentary for them is on the last post. Did I mention that pigeons were everywhere around Notre Dame?

Random Europe Pics

Hello family. There haven't been very many postings on this blog. I thought I'd have a lot of catching up to do, but apparently me being gone meant that everyone decided not to post anything. How sad. Well, I'm back now, so get posting. Here are a couple pics. I'm not sure what order they'll appear, but I'll give you some commentary. There's one of me at the airport and YES, that's all I took. Do you see that little suitcase? Aren't you all very proud? There's my hand in the "Mouth of Truth" in Rome, just like Audrey Hepburn did in ROMAN HOLIDAY. There's another one of me by the Eiffel Tower... God I loved that thing! There's a pic. of me eating brushetta in Rome. Then me in front of Notre Dame. Oh, and don't forget me and Sammy... the french guy who whispered sweet nothings in my ear that I didn't understand. I may throw in a couple more random ones and I just hope you all enjoy. Just found out the blog only lets me put on five so look for more in the next post. Love you all!

New Links

Please notice that the list of links to the right has increased by 67%, There are now five instead of three. You are invited to use them to link to the tales of Marlana's European vacation and the blog of Xavier the Goose.

Also we have changed the knitting link to one that is preferred by goofy knitting aunts everywhere.

Indoor Soccer for Robert and Antonio

Well indoor soccer for the boys has ended. They had a great time. They really loved it. They have asked to be signed up for outdoor soccer for the summer so...I signed them up. They will have 12 games. I will let you all know the schedule if anyone would like to come to a game. The games are very exciting. Maybe it's just me because I am their mom. I hope they get put on the same team again so I don't have different game schedules.

Au Revoir Family!

I'm leaving today for my crazy Europe adventure. I still can't believe it. It's hit me in some ways, but in other ways I haven't fully wrapped my brain around it yet. Tonight, when you are all sleeping, I'm going to be stepping out of a Paris airport, looking around, and probably crying with happiness and excitment.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of my wonderful family for being so supportive. This means an enormous amount to me and it means even more that you all are so excited for me. I did not get this reaction from everybody... but it only matters that the people I love and care about are encouraging in a way that will stay with me forever. Thank you all for that.

Love you all very much. Expect post cards from Paris! Hopefully they'll make it back to the States before I do.

Re: Mia's fabulous Baby Beret and scarf

ok, so here's the thing...

i expect to have it to you this Saturday.

we are taking Marlana to the airport, O'Hare, and we be done up there round 6:00 pm. so will drive back through to your area and give this to you.

I haven't talk to Ginny yet, but we would like to stop in there too and see them. want to see how Roberts doing and let the kids show off their puppy.

expecting to be able to give it to you and having it finished is a whole other thing! problem is that neither is no where near done yet!

as darling as it is, it has been a huge challenge. (i am explaining here, on the mere chance others are interested in it, not complaining, so don't feel bad) the challenge lies in that this is so small it has to be done on small needles not the standard ones you see people use. so i am knitting this on four straight needles all connected to each other no bigger than pick up sticks! (when i am really moving and moving the needles doing it, I feel like Edward Scissors hands!) with yarn not much bigger around. (i've pretty much only worked on big gauge yarn and needles.) add that too using the eyelash yarn that makes it hard to see anything and does not give or stretch when using it, so the whole thing is very tight and stiff to knit. and this being something new, means i can't sit and mindlessly knit. i have to actually think when I do this pattern so I have to have non interrupted nothing going on time. soooooooo with all this going on, through this lengthy process, i have, for one reason or another had to start the *&^%$#+ thing over 3 times! (RUN SCREAMING IN THE STREETS!) and i am doing all this not being real confident if will fit right. this is living the knitting edge.

however, i keep taking deep breathes, starting over and plodding along.

I hope to be done when we come up that way. is that in enough time for pictures? I HOPE SO!

after all this struggle I was thinking she could keep and use it to dress up her dollies or bigger stuffed animals. or it could be saved for the next baby girl in the family. don't want this to end up at Good Will !

the picture is only at the four needle stag. eventually, 88stitches are divided onto 4 needles and knitted with a fifth needles one side at a time in the round.

so there is your answer.

is anyone going to be home this Saturday evening?
